Revolution in schlager-voting

Right after Eurovision-2010 there were a lot of rumours about some radical changes in voting system next year and finally changes have arrived. Radical? Yes and no.
Voting in semifinal and Second Chance will stay the same - 5 artists to go further in first round of semifinal voting and only 4 to be chose to the Final and Second Chance in a second round. The same duel system as previous year is left in Second Chance as well.
First important change is that Swedish jury members will be replaced with international ones so we'll get 11 international juries from different countries. Well, last year we've got loads of emigrants living in Sweden so it was difficult to be called really international jury. Whole amount of given points will be 473 (11 voters * 43 (12+10+8+...+1)).
The same amount will be this time given by viewers. Before whole amount of votes for every artist was ranged and those who got the biggest amount of votes got 132 points, second by viewers voting got 110, and so on - 88, 66, 44, 22, 11.
This time if artist has earned 10% from whole amount of votes he'll get 47 points (10% from 473). Will it change something? Not too much. For example usually difference between 1st and 2nd place is 2-6% (10-30 points), by old system this difference would always be 22 points.
However if this system would work previous years winners would change in 2010 (likely it would be Salem or Eric Saade), in 2009 (Måns could win it all) and in 2005 (Nanne would take over Martin). So next year is going to bring more exciteness and less predictability. Mostly because of international jury whose desicion would be hardly prognozed by any odds, sales or folk's rates.
By the way after announcement of jury's votes public will have around 5 minutes more to react by their votes to jury's result.
P.S. By the way by rumours from Schlagerzoot blog we can get Lena Philipsson, Nanne and some "Swedish celebrity in USA" involved in show - in interval-acts or as hosts, not clear yet.

Adrian here!
Many changes...:P.Sweden failed badly in the previous Eurovision editions because :
1.Last year the choosed a ballad that got lost among the other songs....instead of uptempo song like Kom.I live in Romania, as you know;)), here the musical culture of people is beyond any limit...catastophical.Still, I got a positive feedback when I put them to listen the song-some of my friends

2.In 2009 you sent a mezzosoprana with a huge volume in her voice and a very beautifull song, another Fredrik Kempe product.Taking into consideration the criteria value, the song should have won-it was better than Fairytale and What if we.It wouldn't have won because Europe adored Rybak, but it would have come in top 5 if Malena's vocals would have been good. Here voice went up and down and she ruiend the song.A very beautifull one

3.Charlotte Perrelli the coming back queen, you all said at that time.True!Amaizing voice and a great song.Sweeden had the honour for a few months to be the megafavorite of the public. On Belgrad Perrelli went on the stage looking like an alien, shocking appearence.Europe got scared and hasn't voted for her- nobody votes for an alien.I voted for her, I liked the song, I never thought it would win, but never thought ould failed that bad either. Is Charlotte's fault, a natural appereance would have done much better.....In nowdays people have a huge problem, they won't vote for you if u are fat-that happened with Chiara in 2009.What is wrong with you people, is a song contest not a beauty one.Friday I will too post an article explaining why I think Sweden has failed that badly in Eurovision...

Amazing review Adrian!
I agree with a lot of things, main problem that I see is that Sweden chooses good song but it's not enough - you need to make some real miracles coming to Eurovision, working on the show, listening to responses from audience. When it all will be taken into acount - Sweden will be back to the top places.
Hmmm, I always thought that Romania has good taste in music, your selections are always respectfully taken by Eurovision fans and your dance music is successfully exported many years so I'm pretty sure it's not that bad ;)

It's not dance si clubbing. And it's bad music-musical trash....Here are so many things to say.Romania is an eastern poor country where the bribe still works. Here who gives the biggest amount of money that one is going to win.....but enough about things we can't control:)
